We’ve all had that craving for a particular food. Sometimes we can go for weeks before crunching that taco or days before spooning that fish chowder. Sometimes we have the right ingredients on stock and that go-to recipe on hand. That’s great! We don’t have to opt-in for those fish sticks and mac&cheese for dinner, although that can be pretty satisfying too! Family portraits allow us to easily and quickly recover our most cherished memories and relive them in solitude or share with friends and family. Now, about that lake
Arriving on site and meeting members of the family, and in this case, pets, is always refreshing. That newness and the option to create something of lasting value! The golden hour was about to light up the cove and back light the canopy of trees. We like to do things in a certain order – get a feel for the needs of the family, set up camera gear and lighting, scout – if new location, shoot, and wrap it up. Lots of golds, oranges and greens were the setting for this fall shoot. The location had lots to offer and we took advantage of the beach area, the dock, the dirt road, and we even broke out the drone for a time! Late fall is a great time to shoot in Maine but you’ll need to follow the progress of foliage as it peaks from northern to southern parts of the state.
